Windows Mobile podcasts - meet new, massive, grassroots movement ! April 19, 2005 [General] | By Edward J. R. Some issues can't just be swept neatly under the carpet. Some trends can't be ignored because later on it will be too difficult to catch up with competition. Meet podcasting - the next, after blogging, Internet revolution in progress! Make no mistake: Podcasting is not just a technical solution to deliver audio content automatically to mobile devices (so that existing audio content can be exposed as podcast feeds):
... but podcasting is also a social revolution that inspired thousands of people to create regularly audio content about all areas of life. Fortunately new trend can be observed: podcasts about Windows Mobile now are also available - podcasts that can help you make the most out of your Windows Mobile device, podcasts that can enrich your life. Unfortunately among Windows Mobile MVPs complacency is very widespread and they are concentrating more on pleasing Microsoft employees rather than on pleasing mass market customers! Therefore still Windows Mobile podcasting among MVPs is small although some signs are visible that also some Windows Mobile MVPs will start podcasting... Podcasting is explained here and we wouldn't like to explain or evangalize it - it is spreading through viral marketing by istelf. Here we would like to point out only to the fact that now some Windows Mobile podcasts are available and very soon more is coming! Currently available podcasts dedicated to Windows Mobile only:
You can use iPodder-like podcast catching software for PC or Mac to download podcasts to your computer automatically (they work similarly like RSS readers but download also big audio files - for example overnight - when you sleep, so that in the morning you have podcasts ready to listen while commuting to work) and then copy them to your Windows Mobile device to listen, or you can use one of several podcast clients that download podcasts directly to your Microsoft Smartphone or Pocket PC - either through wireless connection or through USB and ActiveSync Passthrough Internet connection (reuse of the Internet connection of your PC). If you would like to find podcasts about other topics than Windows Mobile click here to visit the only official Podcast directory - it contains over 5000 podcasts from all areas of life - from Agriculture to Women. Don't use other podcast directories, particularly those that force users to vote each month again - they are scam.
