Socket Communications released SDIO Wireless LAN Card driver for Sagem myS-7 smartphone June 01, 2005 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. If you own Sagem myS-7 - a Windows Mobile smartphone manufactured by MiTAC in Taiwan - then you can just get SDIO Wi-Fi card and download the drivers and you will get Wi-Fi in your Microsoft Smartphone! Clearly these drivers were not tested in other models of smartphones, but if your smartphone has SD card slot (and not mini-SD) then you can try these drivers for yourself!
This is the first release of the driver and utlility for the SDIO WLAN card to operate on a Sagem myS-7 smartphone. To learn more or to download this driver or user manuals for it click here. Conclusion: Windows Mobile 2003 for Smartphone doesn't contain support for Wi-Fi networks natively - like Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC does - and that was one of main reasons why by now SDIO Wi-Fi cards were not working with Microsoft smartphones. However drivers for smartphones were under construction for a long time already and since now many Pocket PC devices already have built-in Wi-Fi, it became clear for Socket Communications that smartphones are good opportunity for this company - after all none of Windows Mobile smartphones offers built-in Wi-Fi (only Windows Mobile Pocket PCs offer it)...
