O2 Germany to start selling Xda Mini in June June 05, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. The HTC Magician is on sale already for long time as T-Mobile MDA Compact, i-mate JAM, etc and in O2 Asia it was available too. Now it comes to O2 Europe, at first to O2 Germany (middle of June), later possibly also to O2 UK.
Some highlights about Xda Mini: it is equipped with PXA 270 "Bulverde" processor and runs with speed of 416 MHz. It has built-in Bluetooth and 1.3 Megapixel camera, but no Wi-Fi. Unfortunately this phone lacks support for Bluetooth network access profiles. There will be no ROM upgrade to Windows Mobile 5.0 for Xda Mini - similarly like for other HTC Magician based phones. Even unofficial ROM upgrades to Windows Mobile 5.0 will not be available - they are available only for HTC Typhoon (MS Smartphone known as Orange SPV C500, Audiovox SMT 5600, etc) and for HTC Blue Angel (Pocket PC phone known as O2 Xda IIs, T-Mobile MDA II, Orange M2000, etc). With tariff "O2 Active 100" and 24 monthly long contract this phone will cost 180 Euro in Germany.
