Debunking Handango : Connectione Shop for Pocket PC released June 21, 2005 [Pocket PC] | By Edward J. R. The first customer for Handango's "InHand" program (off-line software catalog) was Sierra Wireless with their Voq. Now that Sierra Wireless canceled Voq smartphone, Handango has found somebody else who falls for their tricks... Here is a sample screen shot:
Connectione Shop is nothing else as "Handango InHand" application but branded for "Connectione" (company in USA). Of course applications of PocketX.net are highlighted unfairly and not all applications are picked for this catalog - Handango is clearly marginalizing some developers. Clearly apart from ripping off developers (sometimes only 40-45% of money goes to developers, the rest is taken by Handango), Handango is using other not-quite-fair tricks that are detrimental for majority of mobile software developers... Connectione Shop is an on-device software catalog that simplifies the process of finding, installing and purchasing software applications and games for Pocket PC phones and devices. InHand provides a new avenue -- the phone itself -- for accessing mobile software downloads. The catalog is an easy-to-use system that allows Pocket PC users to access available software. Each application has several details you can view on the device, including name, short description and price. From within each product description, you can choose to try or buy the application. Product delivery and purchasing are completed directly via the phone so access to a desktop computer is not necessary. To download free Connectione Shop click here.
