Visual IT releases Tube 2 London for Pocket PC (almost) for FREE July 15, 2005 [Pocket PC] | By Edward J. R. Previously this program was available for $28.00 but now it is available almost for FREE due to events that happened in London on July 7, 2005. Why "almost for FREE"? Because developers of this program still collect user information - e-mail of the user, and user name as it is in the device. Without providing this information the application is not working. If this application would be completely for free then developers would not gather this information. It is a pity, that many developers still don't grasp the concept of "freeware" - it results in increased spam and it already happened in past that information gathered in this way was sold to 3rd companies. Following the tragic events on Thursday 7th July 2005 Visual IT would like to express their deepest sympathies and condolences for all those that have been affected. This special version of Tube 2 London has been released free of charge to help Londoners get back to normal as quickly as possible. It has been amended to reflect all the current service changes on the London system. Note only versions for Palm OS, Pocket PC OS & Symbian UIQ are currently available. [...] Transform your PDA into a fully scrollable detailed map of the London Underground. See your journeys come alive with a superb animated display of the route tracking around the system map. You will save hours by automatically having the quickest routes to hand, with all the details you need including line changes, platform directions and accurate journey times.
