Software review : Navigon Mobile Navigator 5 - a competitor to TomTom Mobile - reviewed in a version for MS Smartphone July 28, 2005 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. NAVIGON has finally launched their new MN|5 for Smartphone. A review of Navigon MN|5 for Smartphone is available here. Since the review is in German it is worth looking at the screen shots - there are 23 screen shots in this review. The MN|5 has two ways to use the program - easy and professional mode. The 3D View works like a charm and is as fast as the Pocket PC Version. Also if you miss your turn, the rerouting is fast enough to catch the next turn. Because it has TMC integrated it is the better choice than the TomTOM Mobile System - according to the author of the review. TMC (Traffic Message Channel) enables active dynamic route guidance - thanks to TMC receiver support it is possible to get information about traffic jams in vicinity of the driver - and one doesn't need even to connect to mobile phone network to gather this information!
