Lies, damned lies and Symbian fans : still no Skype client for Symbian ! August 16, 2005 [General] | By Edward J. R. "Useful Skype Phone" is an application for Symbian phones that, in combination with a PC with Bluetooth and Skype program running in this PC, and PC-side of the "Useful" application, makes it possible to make phone calls over Skype from Symbian phones. In other words: without a PC with skype this "Skype-like solution" for Symbian, is not working. However still there is no Skype client for Symbian as you can see here: http://www.skype.com/download/ So still there is no Skype for Symbian, but Symbian fans now claim victoriously: "Symbian now has Skype. One less reason to buy a Microsoft phone!". But it is wrong! Symbian doesn't have real Skype, but just Skype-like solution that requires PC with Bluetooth and with Internet connection. On the other hand Skype client for Windows Mobile makes it possible to make phone calls over wi-Fi in any place - without the need to use some PC or some other Internet connections. To find more informationa about "Useful for Symbian" click here. So still there is one reason more to buy a Micorsoft powered phones: there is Skype client available for them, and it is not available for Symbian...
