Meet i-mate K-JAM ! - a HTC Wizard Pocket PC phone branded by i-mate August 25, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Desire of online retailers to convince consumers to buy phones with "pre-order trick" is very big, so big that they release names of unreleased phones before they are officially released... After i-mate JASJAR (i.e. HTC Universal Pocket PC phone), here comes another example: i-mate K-JAM:
... i.e. the one with sideways slide-out keyboard and ultra slow processor (just 195 MHz - not enough for Skype)... The i-mate K- JAM is similar to the HTC Wizard. The i-mate K- JAM Pocket PC will provide superior corporate email capabilities. With Window Mobile 5.0 corporations can be confident mobile email will be delivered to all their mobile professionals from this quality phone and innovative mobile office communicator. The new Windows Mobile 5.0 platform allows for scalable and cost-effective mobile messaging supported by Exchange 2003 out of the box, whilst your companies networks, data and applications are protected. Operational choices include viewing the screen in portrait mode and using the K-JAM like the i-mate JAM, entering data with the stylus. However slide out the QWERTY keyboard and watch the screen automatically change to landscape. Enter data, write emails with the fully keyboard. Designed for two thumb use and very quick data entry, when you are finished the keyboard can then be neatly tucked away back under the device. To learn more click here. Please note: some paintshop artist from Expansys wrongly used a screen shot from MS Smartphone (Windows Mobile 5.0) in a photo there, although this phone is a Pocket PC, not smartphone... so we can conclude that Expansys is actually fabricating these photos to a big extend... so once again: we advice you not to fall for a "pre-order trick" and to wait till these devices will really be "in-stock".
