Preview of HTC Galaxy - a Pocket PC PDA with built in GPS - with the latest SiRFStar III GPS chip August 26, 2005 [Pocket PC] | By Edward J. R. There are 2 Pocket PC phone models with built-in GPS available now - HP iPAQ hw6500 series and Mitac Mio A701 ... but if you prefer rather having separate PDA with built-in GPS and smaller phone (like MS Smartphone!) then HTC Galaxy may be something for you! It uses the latest generation of GPS chip and is quite small... Galaxy is the first GPS SiRFStar III Pocket PC from HTC sold under their own brand (Qtek) and not other brands like it was the case with HP (iPAQ hw6515). Galaxy only has 32MB of SDRAM but it can allow users to run TomTom Navigator 5, ViaMichelin and Mapopolis but not Navigon MobileNavigator|5 (too slow on screen). HTC Galaxy has similar dimensions as the Qtek S100 but only have a transmissive TFT LCD screen. It uses the new Bluetooth stack from windows mobile 5.0 and is compatible with Bluetooth stereo headset! To view the preview click here (it's in French but it contains several interesting comparative photos).
