4SmartPhone partners with SmartPhones Telecom AS and launches its service in Norway August 30, 2005 [General] | By Edward J. R. ... through both online and retail channels More information from 4SmartPhone follows. * * * * * 4SmartPhone, a leading provider of mobile computing services, combining wireless email & PIM (contacts, calendar, …) with Enterprise-class Exchange 2003 hosting, announced today a strategic alliance and reseller agreement with SmartPhones Telecom AS, a subsidiary of Dangaard Telecom Norway, part of the largest mobile phone distributor in Europe. Together they are launching the 4SmartPhone service in Norway, available immediately via a new localized portal site called “MySmartPhone.no Powered by 4SmartPhone” (www.mysmartphone.no). Norwegian users of Windows Mobile devices can register online and enjoy the benefits of wireless access to their email, contacts and calendar information on their smartphones, and from any connected PC. The service will also be sold directly to individuals as well as small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) through Dangaard Telecom Norway’s vast network of retail stores throughout Norway. Initially, MySmartPhone.no - Powered by 4SmartPhone will be offered with all Microsoft Windows Mobile based smartphones, including the new QTEK 8300 and 9000 series devices also announced today. As part of this joint effort 4SmartPhone has developed a point-of-sale (POS) web-based application which allows retailers to create hosted Exchange 2003 accounts in real-time at the store, and to provision their customers’ smartphones accordingly.
