Flagship Universal emerges slowly from the hyperspace : official user manual of T-Mobile MDA Pro available NOW

Tomorrow, on September 1st, 2005, the flagship of HTC corporation - HTC Universal - goes on sale at T-Mobile Germany.

Here is an explanation of various parts of T-Mobile MDA Pro:



1 - switch on/off ; backlight
2 - microphone
3 - card slot for memory cards in formats SD and MMC and for accessories in SDIO format
4 - touch screen
5 - navigator
6 - lenses of camera 2
7 - LED lamp
8 - light sensor
9 - loudspeaker
10 - camera button
11 - button for voice recording and for voice control
12 - infrared port
13 - backlight switch on/off
14 - volume control

1 - button for accepting incoming phone calls and for switching on handsfree speaker
2 - button for ending calls
3 - socket for (stereo) headset or for car kit
4 - a hole with hidden button for reset (soft reset if pressed alone or hard reset if pressed together with certain combination of keys from the keyboard)
5 - mini-USB - industry standard - USB socket
6 - socket for external GSM antenna
7 - socket for external CDMA antenna (by "CDMA" T-Mobile means "WCDMA", i.e. radio interface protocol used in UMTS standard of 3G)
8 - stylus

Interestingly the user manual describes also how to make ROM upgrade of this phone:



... so we can expect that T-Mobile will be delivering ROM upgrades for this phone! In other words: users don't have to worry that this phone will become outdated.
