It is official : T-Mobile will be selling HTC Wizard Pocket PC phone too ! September 04, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Originally it was O2 UK operator that was a pioneer in Windows Mobile phones - with bold move to sell O2 Xda. Later it was Orange UK that was a pioneering operator, that was selling Windows Mobile phones - by introducing as the first one MS Smartphone phones. Nowadays however it looks like it is T-Mobile Germany that is pioneering new Windows Mobile devices. First came T-Mobile MDA Pro - the first Windows Mobile phone for UMTS and the first Windows Mobile 5.0 device actually on sale, and now comes also HTC Wizard - the first mini Pocket PC phone with built-in Qwerty keyboard and built-in Wi-Fi:
What will be the name of this device? This is yet not quite clear... ... and we guess, that it may be "T-Mobile MDA IV" because T-Mobile depicts this phone as "successor to MDA III". More photos of this device can be found at official website of T-Mobile here (you must scroll down to notice this phone - it is not at the top of this web page). Please note: we have been present at IFA Berlin 2005 trade show where supposedly this phone was presented by T-Mobile, but we haven't noticed this phone there - at the stand of T-Mobile. It may be that T-Mobile presented it at the end of the show or only for a limited time - this is practice common for new upcoming models that are not quit ready yet - we have noticed similar "show and hide" tactic also at other trade shows... Now that T-Mobile releasing HTC Wizard is not a rumor anymore, it is not clear when this phone will be released. We have heard that it may be middle of September 2005 or October. Credit: Melkor.
