O2 Germany introducing 2 new mobile phones powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 !
September 06, 2005 [General] | By Edward J. R.

Xda mini S is a HTC Wizard (small Pocket PC phone with built-in Wi-Fi and Qwerty keyboard) and Xda phone is a HTC Tornado. It is unclear whether O2 UK will follow (remember: O2 UK is busy now with introduction of O2 Xda Exec Pocket PC phone), but it is a good sign that new generation of Windows Mobile phones - powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 and with new features - is coming much faster than expected...

Here is a photo of Xda mini S (please not that keyboard layout is Qwertz [German], not Qwerty [English] ; please note also special O2 specific home screen plugin technology):

... and here is a photo of Xda phone:

While it is good news for users that HTC Wizard will be now available both at T-Mobile (under name "MDA IV" probably - but is not clear yet) and at O2 (under name "Xda mini S"), one must remember that HTC Wizard is too weak to run Skype for the purpose of voice conversations. However thanks to built-in Wi-Fi and built-in Qwerty keyboard using HTC Wizard for e-mailing and other text entry will be a bliss...
