September 22, 2005 [General] | By anonymous 6.

Engadet has just posted images of the new Windows Mobile powered Palm Treo, it is confirmed to be coming out on the Verizon network, and does have Windows Mobile 5.0. The devices uses the 240x240 square resolution. Contrary to the article on Engadget, it will never have a 320x320 display, Windows Mobile 5.0 only supports 240x240 or 480x480 square resolutions.

Palm Treo 700w The first Windows Mobile Palm device

Palm will obviously make a great partner for Microsoft, with their penetration of wireless carriers for the Palm Treo. Engadet points out that the device naming convention, a 'W' after the model number indicates they may have a 700 series device with Palm OS also.
