Samsung i300 goes on sale next month in EU - price announced ! September 23, 2005 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. While we have been playing with Samsung i300 already in March 2005 it is next month - October 2005 - when Samsung i300 (the one to the left):
... will go on sale in Europe! It will not be cheap though... ... because it will cost 699 Euro with subscription! If you compare this price with T-Mobile MDA Pro (HTC Universal) - 749 Euro and with Xda Mini Pro (HTC Wizard) - 599 Euro, then you can clearly see that despite not having Wi-Fi the price is unreasonable! Why so much? Because Samsung i300, that is powered by MS Smartphone 2003 Second Edition (not Windows Mobile 5.0!!!) has built-in hard disk of capacity 3GB. As alternative to this expensive solution without Wi-Fi, we recommend buying one of upcoming Microsoft smartphones with Wi-Fi (like i-mate SP5 and i-mate SP5m) or a Pocket PC phone and then adding higher capacity SD or mini-SD card! The result is a phone that costs less, offers insignificantly smaller capacity but has built-in Wi-Fi! Another disadvantages of Samsung i300: heavy, small display (could be difficult to read), no UMTS (3G). The only operator in EU that confirmed introduction of Samsung i300 by now is O2, but we have information that also other operators and retail shops will be offering this phone next month.
