(on photo above: Ed Zander holds Motorola Q in 2 colors) ... that is releasing yet in October 2005 Microsoft Smarpthone phones with built-in Wi-Fi and much cheaper than Motorola Q. Maybe this is the reason why Motorola decided to release Motorola Q already in December 2005 instead of "first quarter of 2005" as previously announced. In USA where flat rate mobile Internet access is widely available and cheap - having support for EDGE and CDMA-EVDO may be however more important than built-in Wi-Fi! While it is not clear which operator will be the first with Motorola Q one can be certain that both versions will be released: CDMA-EVDO and EDGE. Read more here and here.
