To Ed: work should be done before release? Answer: not much, it works and is rock solid. Just some standard certifications needed. To Bill Gates: what about 240x240 display and what about smartphones with 320x240 pixels like Motorola Q? Answer: this distinction is artificial. Don't think about it as 2 product lines but as one product line. To Strigl: will Verizon continue support for PalmOS? Answer: yes, Treo 650 will be still sold (but no new model mentioned). To Ed: will Windows Mobile enhancements go to Palm OS direction too? Answer: these are 2 separate teams. To Bill and Ed: what big effort to move from one platform to another was it? (from Palm OS to Windows Moible). Answer: Bill: already planning phase for Windows Mobile 5.0 took into account Palm. It was many years of cooperation. Ed: engineers had no problems to cooperate, but problems were in business area only. To Ed: what about Treo with GPRS and UMTS, do you plan it, when? Answer: after middle of next year - yes we plan it. To Ed: what about other operating systems like Linux and Symbian? Answer: NO (!!!). Palm needs no more operating systems than PalmOS and Windows Mobile. Next new operating system would be too much effort. Symbian is thus excluded. To Ed: when Wi-Fi enabled? Answer: immediately through expansion slot, first Windows Mobile Treo will not have built-in Wi-Fi. Future models will have.
