Revival of i-mate JASJAR back to English version possible : ROM upgrade available, but ... September 30, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Good news: people who by mistake (caused by i-mate) installed Arabic version of ROM upgrade for i-mate JASJAR now can install proper English version! However it is just revival and still not a proper upgrade to new version... However it is not quite clear where it is! The page about ROM upgrade for i-mate JASJAR now has an extra line added: "Please note that the World Wide English version of the JASJAR ROM will be made available by 30 September 2005" Although it is not publicly available, the Club i-mate FTP site now has the original WWE (World Wide English) firmware on the site. A number of people with "dead" JasJar's have been able to revive them. This doesn't however, help those people who were waiting for the new firmware. To download the ROM upgrade for i-mate JASJAR visit their FTP site with anonymous access: ftp://ftp.clubimate.com. Conclusion: while users can revive their wrongly "upgraded" i-mate JASJAR phones back to English version, clearly the new promised upgrade is not out yet. Credit: John Benson from Solutios Ltd.
