AppForge at CeBIT 2003 says: no booster for MS Smartphone any time soon!!! March 13, 2003 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. It looks like good old eMbedded Visual C++ 3.0 will stay for long time the only software development tool for MS Smartphones... AppForge Booster is a kind of virtual machine that runs on Palm OS PDAs (for free), Symbian phones (for free) and on Pocket PC PDAs (for 9 USD). AppForge MobileVB is an add-on for MS Visual Basic that makes it possible to develop mobile applications platform-independently with use of easy to use MS Visual Basic technology. Such applications require AppForge Booster to be executed, similarly like Java programs need Java Virtual Machine to be executed. While visiting CeBIT 2003 we have noticed 2 people from AppForge so we couldnīt help to ask them about MS Smartphone! Answer was simple and quite blatant: there will be no AppForge Booster for MS Smartphone any time soon because Microsoft doesnīt want to make business deal with AppForge! (Microsoft doesnīt want to make business deal with polar bears but nobody has heard them complaining) Therefore there is AppForge Booster for Pocket PCs but it costs money - is not free as for other platforms, but we cannot get the booster for our MS Smarpthones...
