New VoIP program for Pocket PC released : ineen October 13, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. This is just an initial version of this program for Pocket PC (it is available in full version for Windows and Mac OS X) so not all features are supported: ineen for Pocket PC only supports VoIP at this time. Video, IM and Presence are not yet available Contrary to Skype that uses proprietary P2P protocols, ineen uses industry standard SIP for VoIP (Voice over IP): ineen uses SIP [Session Initiation Protocol] and other open standards. ineen in interoperable with various SIP networks today including but not limited to: Free World Dialup SIPphone TerraCall Iptel.org Similarly like for Skype for Pocket PC, also ineen has some basic requirements: In order to use ineen for Pocket PC, your computer must meet the following minimum system requirements: Windows Mobile 2002 or 2003 Pocket PC 400 MHz processor WiFi / WLAN enabled Interestingly both Skype and ineen need processor with minimal speed of 400 MHz - that's why buying Pocket PC phones and PDAs with processors slower than 400 MHz makes no sense.
