New article from Microsoft: the HP iPAQ hw6500 Mobile Messenger - Out of the Box October 19, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Here comes yet another article from Suzanne Ross, whose sole qualification is being "fond of her two laptops, two desktops, and a Windows Mobile-based Smartphone and Pocket PC". This time she writes about HP iPAQ hw6515 and family. Her article is published by Microsoft so no wonder that it is not mentioning the most important issue: HP iPAQ hw6515 is not powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 so it is absolutely not worth buying... The hw6500 is a Pocket PC Phone Edition with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition software. Whew. Had to get it out there. What this means is that comes packed with great features, like Windows Media Player 10 Mobile for music and video viewing. It also has Pocket Excel, Pocket Word, and Pocket Outlook, which means you can check your e-mail while you're away from your desk. A bonus is the integrated GPS receiver. If you haven't yet used GPS, try it. It's great for helping you find your way on business trips, vacations, or just around your own city. I used GPS extensively while house hunting. This device is great, because you don't have to juggle another device while using GPS. To read the article in full click here.
