i-mate JASJAR and i-mate K-JAM come to India
October 20, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.
i-mate signed distribution agreement and today officially launched these phones in India: so people in India can buy i-mate JASJAR for Rs 64,999 and i-mate K-JAM for Rs 39,999.
i-mate Pocket PC phones will be distributed through the company: 4G Mobiles Retailing and Broadband Services Pvt. Ltd (sorry, we couldn't find there website), that will be selling these phones not directly but through mobile phone retailers in India. There are 1,500 mobile phone retailers in India (2nd largest country population wise in the world) and "4G Mobiles..." wants to reach 500 of them by middle of next year and eventually all of them.
It is good to hear that i-mate is targeting also Asia, and not just Europe and USA. While Dopod is a HTC distributor covering China, it looks like i-mate covers India.
