Rumor : the first photo of T-Mobile MDA Compact II ( 2 )
October 27, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.
Our Bavarian reporter visited Systems 2005 trade show, that takes place now in city of Munich in Bavaria (EU), and he managed to get information and photo about the successor to the ultra-sucessful T-Mobile MDA Compact - the T-Mobile MDA Compact II ! Here is the first ever photo (not just computer generated rendering) of this phone:
Here is more information about T-Mobile MDA Compact II:
- powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 (although lack of 2 soft keys also in form of buttons is dissapointing, but probably HTC wanted to keep the very same case as it was in old T-Mobile MDA Compact - to save costs)
- built-in Wi-Fi (unknown whether also 802.11g will be supported though)
- the other characteristics the same or similar as old T-Mobile MDA Compact, including 240x320 display and Bluetooth
- the buttons are slightly different: apart from take calls (green) and reject calls (red) now there are also "Windows" and "OK" buttons
Conclusion: since the T-Mobile MDA Compact (HTC Wizard) has achieved incredible market success it is only understadable that T-Mobile follows it with a unit with upgrade software and Wi-Fi. Please note however that there is no official information from T-Mobile yet, so this still is a rumor.
