RIM plans to buy Palm Inc

... and then takeover of Palm Inc may be the only hope for long-term survival. Since RIM has market value approximately 3 times bigger than Palm Inc, such takeover would be possible. Since Japanese browser maker Access purchased PalmSource, nothing seems impossible in the smartphone market!
One is for sure: RIM's devices have extremely high usability - among other things thanks to the excellent scroll wheel, and if RIM would take over Palm, then we could see Windows Mobile Treo with Blackberry-like scroll wheel and with Blackberry software preinstalled! In other words: such takeover would be extremely beneficial for Windows Mobile - the design of Windows Mobile Treo phones would be further improved and since RIM has its own manufacturing facilities in Canada (you can observe "Made in Canada" on many Blackberry devices), also quality of Treo devices could improve...
