At last Microsoft gets Bluetooth right: stereo audio over Bluetooth comes to Windows Mobile 5.0 November 16, 2005 [General] | By Edward J. R. This is fantastic news! We never are shy to criticize Microsoft or any other company but here really Microsoft "gets it". The push e-mail component for Windows Mobile 5.0 has been delayed and it will be released for manufacturers around January 2006 (what means that ROM upgrades will be released to end customers by operators and distributors a couple weeks or months later) - the existing devices powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 doesn't have it yet in ROM and although push e-mail component for MS Exchange server is already released, it can't be used... The good news is that together with push e-mail component Microsoft will be releasing also support for A2DP, i.e. stereo audio over Bluetooth: I've had a question asked by Mohammed on when will Windows Mobile support the A2DP profile natively. If you aren't familiar - A2DP is the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile which provides support for streaming either mono or stereo audio over Bluetooth. The A2DP profile is introduced in AKU 2.0 of Windows Mobile - the same deliver vehicle for the Messaging and Security Feature Pack. Then - not only will you be able to get Push Email - but you'll be able to listen to your music without wires!
