Now you can get MCP in Mobility ! November 16, 2005 [General] | By Edward J. R. MCP denotes "Microsoft Certified Professional" title, that contrary to MVP that is awarded by unfair handpicking, must be earned by passing exams prepared and certified by Microsoft. While by now one could pass such exams in various areas ranging from Microsoft Office, through Microsoft Exchange to software development techniques of Microsoft, now you can take (and pass) such exam also in Mobility! This is good that Microsoft extends MCP to mobility because now companies that sell products and solutions based on Windows Mobile will be able to show to their customers true competence - by presenting employees who passed Mobility certifications from Microsoft! Read on! If your company designs, deploys, or customizes mobility solutions using Microsoft technologies, attaining the new Mobility Solutions Competency can aid you in promoting your skills to customers. Find out more about the benefits, requirements, training, and certification exams. [...] Have at least two Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs) in your organization who have passed at least one of the requirement exams to qualify for the Mobility Solutions Competency. Conclusion: having employees who are MVP is many times less important than having employees who are MCP - particularly if given company is selling products or solutions based on Microsoft technologies. MCP proves that given person has passed exams and has thus broad enough knowledge to advice people properly and to implement solutions with Microsoft technologies optimally. MVP proves nothing and common practice among companies to showcase employees that have MVP really only shows how unfair the whole MVP program is: people with tiny contributions and very superficial knowledge get this award while people with huge knowledge and contributions are forgotten by Microsoft. With MCP in mobility finally companies can prove their real (!) competence in Windows Mobile!
