TomTom brings support for MS Smartphones with QVGA and for Windows Mobile 5.0
November 17, 2005 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.

The most popular in Europe software for GPS based car navigation - TomTom - has released update to TomTom Mobile so that now also new phones are supported: those with QVGA display and those with Windows Mobile 5.0. In other words also phones like i-mate SP5 and i-mate SP5m are supported...

To get update for TomTom Mobile 5 click here.

While TomTom Mobile 5 is designed for Windows Mobile and Symbian smartphones, the PDA version (i.e. for Pocket PC) of TomTom navigation software is called "TomTom Navigator 5" and unfortunately there is no confirmation yet that update for Windows Mobile 5.0 for it has been released... but in most Windows Mobile 5.0 devices this software should work without problems.

Conclusion: now you can go out and buy Windows Mobile 5.0 phones without the fear that your beloved TomTom software will stop working!
