Omni GroupWise Suite released for multiple platforms, including Windows Mobile November 24, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Now that Microsoft is releasing soon push direct upgrade for Windows Mobile (that works with MS Exchange), it will be increasingly difficult to convince corporate customers to buy other groupware... but some companies still keep trying and additionally provide multi-platform compatibility, i.e. support also for Symbian and other handicapped mobile platforms... * * * * Omni GroupWise Suite to Rival Microsoft Exchange Mobility More than just Windows Mobile and Pocket PC connectivity, Omni delivers GroupWise for Palm Treo 650, 600, LifeDrive, Pocket PC and Sony Ericsson wireless devices. Omni Technology Solutions Inc. (Omni) announced the immediate availability of its Omni Mobility Suite for GroupWise through its global reseller channel. The Omni Mobility Suite has three components: Omni Mobile, a full GroupWise client for “Smart” devices; Omni Syncaphone, a GroupWise “light” client for Java mobile phones; and Omni Messenger, a GroupWise Messenger client for Palm and Pocket PC PDAs and PDA Smartphones. “The Omni Mobility Suite is the first, cross-platform wireless suite that provides "native", real-time GroupWise client connectivity for GroupWise and GroupWise Messenger,” explains Aldo Zanoni, CEO for Omni. “Our customers are excited about having a direct wireless link to their GroupWise systems. A major contributor to our success has been AppForge Crossfire, the development platform used for Omni Mobile. Version 1.0 supports Palm Treo 650, 600, LifeDrive and Tungsten; Sony Ericsson P910, P900, P800; and Pocket PC and Windows Mobile PDAs and PDA Phones. Version 1.1 will support Nokia Series 60 and Series 90 devices. Omni Syncaphone supports virtually all Java cell phones. Omni Messenger supports Palm and Pocket PC PDAs and PDA Smartphones.
