Windows Mobile 5.0 users ask impatiently: when we will be able to push it ? November 30, 2005 [General] | By Edward J. R. We have answered this question already many times: the component for push e-mail for Windows Mobile 5.0 will be included in a ROM upgrade that will be distributed next year (around March 2006), but apparently users are still confused and ask again and again! ... like this: just wondering if you know when the Windows Mobile 5.0 Messaging and Mobility Pack will be out to enable Push Email? Here is additional information about this push upgrade - directly from Microsoft: I have to re-iterate that you need two components: 1) Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 2) Windows Mobile 5 devices that have AKU 2.0 integrated - all new devices from Q1 next year will have this integrated however existing Windows Mobile 5 devices will need an upgrade - you need to check with your OEM/Operator on when they will have an upgrade. From an infrastructure perspective you have to deploy Exchange Server Activesync - there is a great document on our website that describes step-by-step how to do this To learn more click here (latest update on the situation from Microsoft UK). Conclusion: if you are Windows Mobile 5.0 user only then you can do nothing. If you are however network administrator, then you can already prepare local installation of MS Exchange to be ready for new push technology of Microsoft.
