3GB HDD mobile from Samsung (and Walkman phones) take on Apple iPod : review of Samsung i-300 December 04, 2005 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. The renown British magazine Total Mobile (it is sold in paper form all over UK) in latest issue (i.e. issue 138) has reviewed Samsung i300 smartphone:
... and as you can see above it even awarded "Total Mobile BEST BUY 2005" in smartphone category to this phone! This review has in total 3 pages:
... and generally is very positive. Of course one cannot miss the lack of Wi-Fi and UMTS, but built-in hard disk (with possibility of further extension through micro-SD card) with very very strong audio features, are compensating for this lack and surely not all fans of audio are necessarily in need of using Wi-Fi and UMTS (i.e. 3G). Some short quotes from the review: Pros
This emphasis on audio performance doesn't come at the expense of other high-end features. To learn more about Total Mobile magazine click here. To read review of Samsung i300 in Total Mobile just go to any newsstand in UK and buy latest issue (138) for 3.99 GBP. Commentary: it looks like main competitor of Samsung i300 - the Nokia N91 - will be on sale much after i300, and thus window of opportunity for i300 will be wider. However i300 despite lacking UMTS and Wi-Fi, can be interesting also for users just because it has strong audio features. It is unclear yet for example whether Nokia N91 will be supporting stereo audio over Bluetooth - and Samsung i300 is supporting it already now. The lack of Windows Mobile 5.0 and using Windows Mobile 2003 may put off some users, mainly geeks, but for mass market end users it will not play any role. Anyway Samsung i300 is a very interesting mobile phone and excellent scroll-wheel navigation makes it very pleasant to use.
