Action Engine and Landmat Partnership Delivers Wireless Access to Popular Services

Action Engine and Landmat announced the debut of finger-touch, digital quality wireless access to popular Match.com online dating and Time Out dining/entertainment services, displayed on a Microsoft Smartphone SPV running the Acton Engine Mobile Web Services Platform. Action Engine and Landmat have signed an agreement to bring brand-name content to mobile smart devices, and will also partner on joint development, sales and marketing efforts." “Action Engine and Landmat are offering mobile operators a compelling and complete solution for their subscribers that ‘lights up’ their Microsoft Smartphone,” said Howard Gefen, director of mobile operator solutions for the Mobile Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. “These valued industry partners provide content with a truly unique user experience and deliver it in way that makes it very simple for operators to take to market.”

“Landmat brings rich content like Match.com and Time Out to our mobile web services platform and further enhances the user experience by combining it with built-in, intelligent location-based services like MapPoint Web Service that seamlessly interact and share information across the services,” said Craig Eisler, Action Engine CEO. “For example, subscribers can use their Smartphone to download and display pictures of potential partners they are matched with from Match.com that can be specific to the area or location they are in at that moment. They can then quickly get maps and directions to meet them, or, they could just as easily search for restaurants or other meeting places with Time Out, get those locations and directions and meet them there,” continued Eisler. Match.com provides wireless dating, matching and communication capabilities. Together with Moviso, the leading provider of mobile media products and services in North America, and Landmat, a leading developer of applications and services for the mobile Internet, Match Mobile allows singles to message and communicate anonymously with other singles that live in their area. Time Out (www.timeout.com) provides comprehensive and in depth information about the world´s greatest cities, with city guides divided into ten sections: accommodation, sightseeing, art, entertainment, restaurants, bars, shopping, kids, gay and lesbian, and weekly events. Within each of these sections is access to even more detailed information by using the "More..." pull-down menu.

For example up-to-the-minute events listings compiled by a local correspondent, Time Out brings the best concerts, exhibitions, clubs and events happening now or in the near future. There´s also information on hotels to suit every budget, the best restaurants, bars and cafés, and where to find best shopping. It also provides vital practical info, such as what the weather is like, how much your money will buy, the easiest way to get around, emergency telephone numbers and the like. Where possible Time Out services are enhanced as location based services.

”Smart devices are a major breakthrough for delivering wireless data, and with Action Engine’s mobile web services platform, we can offer our unique content in one fell swoop to huge new audiences,” said David Pepper, Time Out Communications Managing Director.

The Action Engine Mobile Web Services Platform is a client-server solution for smart devices that, by using a thick client, provides a rich and easy-to-use experience, unparalleled network efficiency, and convenient and always-available access to applications and data independent of a network connection.

Action Engine provides a free downloadable SDK for its Mobile Web Services Platform that allows developers to build smart client, smart server applications using industry standard XML. These applications then run on top of the Mobile Web Services Platform on smart device operating systems.

Action Engine also provides a comprehensive Over-The-Air Device Management Platform that simplifies device configuration, device registration, software maintenance, service provisioning, security, wireless data backup/restore, applications downloads, and more.
