Review : Moto Q December 13, 2005 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Part of the bribery by Microsoft during Mobius 2005 USA conference, was ability to see new upcoming phones like HTC Prophet and Motorola Q (also known as "Moto Q"):
Here comes one of the first reviews of Motorola Q for CDMA EVDO networks. While Motorola Q for GSM will be released in middle of 2006 and unless it will support also UMTS, it will fail badly, the Motorola Q for CDMA EVDO will launch already at the beginning of 2006 in USA so if you are interesting in a mobile phone that is as cool as RAZR but has full smartphone functionality, then this Moto Q may be for you! Read on! Navigation through the new and improved menu system can be done rapidly by using the scroll wheel with its push-to-select ability. A quick flick of the thumb sends you gliding across the menu structure. While it seems to be about as fast in doing so as the current BlackBerry devices (like the 8700), the Q doesn't do it as smoothly. The OS still has a few minor speed hiccups in it when compared to RIM's proprietary system. I found the Q's QWERTY keyboard to be about as good as that in the current Treo line, its extra width and spacing suiting my hands a bit better overall.
