Apparently Fujitsu-Siemens really is releasing Pocket PC phone : Pocket Loox T800 ! January 12, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Update: photos of this phone available too! See bottom of this news item!!! This phone is REAL, not a rumor! How can Siemens use its brand to release a phone if it sold Siemens Mobile division to BenQ - together with right to use brand "Siemens" on BenQ made phones? Nobody knows for sure, but more and more rumors about upcoming Pocket PC phone from Fujitsu-Siemens are surfacing. There is no photo yet, just this computer generated image:
And this Fujitsu-Siemens T800 must be manufactured by HTC because it also has (inferior) low resolution display (240x240 pixels): The T800 will use a design that's growing in popularity: a thumb-keyboard below a 240-by-240-pixel display. It will run Windows Mobile 5.0 Phone Edition on a 416 MHz XScale processor. It will have 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of Flash ROM for storage. This will be a GSM device that also offers support for UMTS high-speed wireless networking, giving it typical data transfer speeds between 400 and 700 kilobits per second (kbps). But it won't stop there; this Pocket PC will also supposedly offer Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0. A SirfStar III GPS receiver and two different cameras -- one VGA and another 2 megapixel -- will round out the T800. To learn more click here.
