For developers: Windows Mobile 5.0 Developer Resource version 1.5 released January 19, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. Update: despite claiming otherwise, the trial version of Visual Studio 2005 is not included by Microsoft in this download! Apparently Microsoft is into discouraging developers from developing Windows Mobile software, as one developer reports: It does NOT work. I downloaded the whole thing, 900 MBs, and the Visual Studio 90-day trial is NOT included!! The installer does NOT installing it! And without it, you can't install the SDK either!!! Update 2: after a couple of hours after this download became available Microsoft has changed description of this download: removed text that Visual Studio 2005 trial version is included, and added text that it is not included! Clearly at the beginning the text that Visual Studio 2005 trial version is included was there but Microsoft has changed the description and now Microsoft tries to hide the fact that initially the description was wrong, and that this description included information, that Visual Studio 2005 trial version is included... Trial version of Visual Studio 2005 is included but if you want to develop Windows Mobile 5.0 application for a longer time than 90 days (trial period) - you need to buy it! The times when whole SDKs for Windows Mobile software development were free - are over.
