HP leaks info about HP hw6900 series phones - the first official confirmation January 26, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. A PDF file on the website of HP reveals that HP hw6900 series phones are coming indeed - thus for the first time confirming officially that instead of hw6700 series, hw6900 series phones are coming: ![]() As you can see above apart from hw6910 (without camera) and hw6915 (with camera) also some other models are listed: hw6920, h6925, hw6940, h6945 and h6965! Interestingly USA is not listed in the list of countries where hw6910/hw6915 will be available: ![]() ... so it could be that these phones will come with big delay to USA as it was with HP hw6515/hw6510 phones, that were not released in USA and people in USA were still under NDA, although in Europe these phones were alread on sale for several months! HP hw6910/hw6915 are expected to have the same low-resolution display (240x240 pixels), slow Wi-Fi (802.11b only, no 802.11g), outdated chipset for built-in GPS (not SiRF III) and lack of UMTS and HSDPA. The only main advantage over HP hw6515 will be: Wi-Fi will be built-in and they will be powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 at last. To download this PDF file click here. Credit: Tim Bray (from Australia).
