Xda Atom ROM upgrade released January 28, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Apparently O2 Asia that sells O2 Xda Atom - the smallest Pocket PC phone in the world, made by Quanta and with built-in FM radio - is one of those distributors that do care about customers sincerely, and shows it by releasing new ROM upgrades frequently...
Here are benefits of this ROM upgrade : Overall Performance - Improves overall performance. Reconfigures memory system to allow more storage memory available to Outlook (PIM) data synchronization and to programs that must be run under primary storage space. MMS client - Updates MMS software to 4.0.0 (Build 111) that supports insertion of multiple photo/video images. GSM software - Provides better handling of GRPS, EDGE connection. Improves RF performance in weak signal areas. Camera software - Improves performance of camera application and camera start up time. Adds a new video capture mode. Improves performance of album application. Audio - Increases output level from stereo headset. Resolutions to following issues
Please note: O2 Xda Atom not only is available at O2 Asia in East Asia and Australia, but also at several online retailers like Expansys. On top of that the same model is coming soon also from HP - branded as HP iPaq hw6800 series (i.e. hw6815 and hw6810 probably). Also: there are rumors that O2 Xda Atom supports also stereo audio over Bluetooth (A2DP), but we couldn't confirm them yet... (as of now: E-TEN M600 with ROM version 0171 and T-Mobile MDA Pro with latest ROM upgrade both already support A2DP).
