3GSM 2006 coverage: HTC Hermes news
February 14, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.
HTC Hermes looks exactly like HTC Wizard - a slide out keyboard on the left side and quite small size. One thing is different though: it also supports UMTS and HSDPA and 3G video calling ...
Here come the news about HTC Hermes:
- at press conference of T-Mobile, where Rene Obermann was speaking some people managed to make the first real life photos of HTC Hermes (it looks exactly like HTC Wizard - the keyboard is with keys without spaces among them - like it is in Cingular 8125). Apparently T-Mobile will release it around May 2006.
- we have interviewed today Jim Morrison, CEO of imate (audio recording and summary of this interview coming later), and he informed us that HTC Hermes will be sold by imate as "i-mate JAS JAM" and will come to market around July 2006.
At last times are known, when first small Windows Mobile phones with 3G/UMTS support will be released. Yes, small pocketable 3G phones powered by Windows Mobile will be available this summer...
