3GSM 2006 coverage: presentations by Dale Coffing and pals + China Mobile visits Microsoft February 16, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. There is common misconception, particularly among Americans, that 3GSM is a local European event. This is pure nonsense, because it is a global event, as this story and our former story about most attractive women at 3GSM show! Saying that 3GSM is a European event is like saying that "United Nations" is a local American organization just because it happens to be headquartered in New York, USA... 3GSM is a global event because it has not only exhibitors and speakers from Asia and USA, but also visitors as this story shows. Here we present audio recording and depiction of a presentation that was being given repetitively by Dale Coffing:
... and some other Microsoft employees (here: Ford Davidson), during 3GSM 2006! Dale Coffing once was a Windows Mobile MVP and had a website with "passion" in name and now Microsoft uses him to present Windows Mobile in "Microsoft Theatre" part of Microsoft stands at various trade shows, including CES and 3GSM. Presentations of Dale Coffing are usually passionate but this one was even more so, because it was given in the presence of Pieter Knook (in the middle) and delegation of China Mobile (a mobile operator from China):
Interestingly after this presentation the delegation from China Mobile left the Microsoft Theatre to visit other part of stand of Microsoft at 3GSM - where devices were presented:
* * * * * Usually Dale Coffing and pals give this presentation just to passersby but this one was exceptional - in presence of top manager of Windows Mobile and important delegation. Usually Dale Coffing was accompanied by other Microsoft employee who was helping out in the presentation and then he was not speaking:
... but the other guy (here: Ford Davidson) was speaking:
In this presentation various features of Windows Mobile were presented, both from the point of view of mobile phone functionality and PDA functionality. One of such features was Office Mobile and Dale Coffing demonstrated that not only one can make visually graphic color charts with use of Excel Mobile, but one can also view presentations with PowerPoint Mobile. Interestingly he showed also ability to present (on the projector) the Power point presentation wirelessly and directly from the Windows Mobile phone (here: i-mate JASJAR):
This presentation was directed at people who don't know anything about Windows Mobile - mainly passersby but sometimes also to VIPs as you can see above.
