CeBIT 2006 coverage: Mitac no longer interested in Windows Mobile phones ? February 20, 2006 [Pocket PC] | By Edward J. R. While still Mitac's core business are PCs and servers and computer accessories like displays, etc, in area of mobile devices Mitac is fully focusing on GPS enabled devices. However Mitac's GPS devices are closed GPS navigation systems or Pocket PC PDA devices with built-in GPS or some related accessories (like TMC/RDS receivers) ... but not Pocket PC phones with built-in GPS! For 2 years Mitac has not presented any new MS Smartphone too... At CeBIT 2006 Mitac is rumored to release new Pocket PC PDAs with built-in GPS (but not phones!), and indeed it looks like after releasing of some smartphones long time ago, Mitac has lost interest in releasing new Windows Mobile phones...
