T-Mobile MDA Vario update delayed February 22, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. More delays? It looks like not all HTC manufactured phones are equal: some of them are getting ROM updates earlier than others... * * * * * The update for the T-Mobile Vario is NOT coming with March. It has been pushed back until Q2 and at the latest June. Also, the ROM update that was released in January is no longer available from T-Mobile due to compatiblity issues. Here is a copy of an email, with what the support specialist originally said: 'The release is still schedule to be on our website next month. You will find that it is the same release that you already saw on our website albeit it changed slightly as it was found not to be 100% reliable. This was an oversight that only came to light after we released it.' In another email: 'I have spoken to another of our departments about the forthcoming ROM update and I am afraid to say that the release date has been put back until quarter two of this year. In other words, up until June. In terms of what it will contain, again, we aren't really at liberty to say at this point. Possibly Blackberry and possibly BT2. At the moment we are unable to say for definite. Sorry for the lack of information and I can understand your frustration as other vendors have released this already. The reason that we take our time is due to our stringent product testing as we wouldn't want to release a below par product to our customers.'
