RFID reader for Pocket PC released - as SDIO card
March 01, 2006 [Pocket PC] | By Edward J. R.

Next time you will be buying Pocket PC phone think twice whether it will have full size SD card slot or mini-SD or micro-SD! Only full size SD card slot provides SDIO compatibility and thus possibility to use many accessories, including upcoming DVB-H SDIO TV tuner cards and (now) also RFID reader SDIO card:

Nowadays in retail trade the laser based bar code readers slowly are becoming obsolete and totally replaced by RFID readers, where RFID are special tags, that are attached to products and that can be easily scanned without the need to point a reader at them. It is very very important that now RFID in SD card format is becoming available because it will open a lot of application possibilities for Windows Mobile devices!
