The biggest web hosting company in UK offers Microsoft Direct Push Email March 06, 2006 [General] | By Edward J. R. Even if your company is small and doesn't have its own Microsoft Exchange servers, you can ditch your Blackberry device and start using Microsoft Direct Push email with Windows Mobile phones ! You can do it also if you have no company and you are just an individual (private) user! Previously we were reporting, that several web hosting companies, including British Fasthosts already offer Microsoft Direct Push technology ... and we even tested it! Some people couldn't believe us because apparently not all employees of these hosting companies answer the support questions properly, but here is another confirmation that in fact Fasthosts supports Microsoft Direct Push already: Companies that use the latest version of Microsoft's Exchange server can "push" email out to a compatible, Windows Mobile handheld, bypassing the additional mobile email servers needed to run BlackBerry devices. But for companies that would rather not run their own email systems - let alone manage mobile devices - the choices are more limited. That's why the solution offered by web-hosting firm Fasthosts makes for an interesting halfway house between a completely unmanaged service and subscribing to an end-to-end email system via a mobile operator. Please note: you don't have to switch to Fasthosts - now already several companies updated their Exchange servers and offer push email. By this story we would like to underline only that in order to benefit from Microsoft Direct Push you don't have to have your own Microsoft Exchange Server or Microsoft Exchange Server in your company - because hosting companies already offer possibility to outsource it to them!
