Review: Samsung SGH-i310 - Music Maestro with 8 GB hard disk on board ! March 10, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Revel in the spirit of sound ... Don't let the groove slip you by. Samsung SGH-i310 runs the very latest version of Windows Mobile 5.0:
... so everything is included, not only stereo audio over Bluetooth (A2DP) but also Microsoft's Push Email! Samsung SGH-i310 is a fantastic smartphone, that may completely sway your mind, particularly if you are a lover of music (or of another audio, like podcasts). Read our review and see high resolution imagery of what well could be one of the best smartphones ever! Samsung is pushing the technological barriers of mobile phones faster than any other player in the industry. At CeBIT 2006 it was Samsung, that presented the first mobile phone with 10 megapixel camera. It was also Samsung, that presented the flattest, the thinnest mobile phone with support for HSDPA (fast UMTS). Make no mistake: Samsung is licensing Symbian Series 60 from Nokia, but Samsung is using Windows Mobile, not Symbian, in their most innovative phones... Samsung is very proud of their technological achievements, also "being first" in the area of mobile phones (both regular and smartphones) equipped with hard disks:
... where Samsung writes: Music Maestro imagine room for your entire music library and staggering sound quality. It's not hard to imagine with the musical innovation of Samsung. Tune in on the move and have at the sound with impressive digital music playback. Revel in the spirit of sound and inspire your senses with the mobile music revolution. Don't let the groove slip you by. Obviously Samsung SGH-i310 is a product of evolution and already number 3 model of smartphones from Samsung (after i300 with 3GB and i300x with 4GB) with hard disk and number 4 of all mobile phones with hard disk (there was also non-smartphone phone with hard disk) from Samsung! Samsung SGH-i300 is the oldest brother of Samsung SGH-310 and here you can see them both at once:
Samsung SGH-310 has a brilliant display of 240x320 resolution and the same very user friendly steering wheel:
Not only hard disk, but the camera has been improved too and now it offers 2 megapixel resolution:
If that's not enough this phone also has TV output, so you can connected it to projected or computer monitor and you can run (for example) your PowerPoint presentations directly from this phone - without the need to even switch the notebook on:
Sure Samsung SGH-i310 doesn't support UMTS but it is not that bad after all: not everybody would like to be checked on by his wife by video calling, if without UMTS pretending that you are at work, not at pub, is so much easier! You can expect Samsung SGH-i310 this summer at the latest. It can do many things that your Apple iPod can't do: for example making phone calls... but it also allows you to use stereo Bluetooth headset and run several smartphone applications. With Samsung SGH-i310 you can be sure that your mobile sound will be of highest quality - so you can truly "revel in the spirit of sound"...
