AudioBay - a mobile podcasting solution for Windows Mobile - released March 16, 2006 [Pocket PC] | By Edward J. R. While most other websites are just passing news verbatim from companies, we are different: we are testing, we are checking and we keep it real by revealing the truth about stories, products, services and phones... Here is a new program for Windows Mobile - AudioBay - that at first sight looks like "dream comes truth" for podcast creators - you can create podcasts, upload them to server and get the RSS feed updated automatically - all inside of Pocket PC device:
... but the reality is (remember: "keeping it real!" is our principle) a bit different: this program/solution forces people to use some not free podcast hosting - users can't select another server for uploads! In other words: this what you are buying is a one year subscription of podcast hosting with a program for Windows Mobile for recording and uploading - but only to their servers, not to server of your choice. Obviously this solution may be interesting for some people, but most people who create podcasts, would like to have certainty over many years, that their podcasts (and URL to RSS feed of their podcasts) will be preserved - and this can't be accomplished if these podcasts are located on some foreign Internet domain... Information from the vendor follows: AudioBay is an integrated podcasting solution for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs. Using the AudioBay software, users can set up a podcast, record an episode, and upload it to the Web within a matter of minutes. If you've got a Pocket PC and Internet connection, we'll take care of the rest. Main Features:
