Synergy to distribute g-smart Pocket PC phone made by GIGABYTE in Hong Kong and Macau March 17, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. GIGABYTE corporation is entering big time the Windows Mobile phones market and as you could hear from our interview with GIGABYTE they seem to be focused on delivery of phones that are equipped with TV tuners (at first: analog PAL/NTSC but soon also DVB-T and DVB-H). Users can dial out easily by pressing the numerical keypad using one hand. They are also able to watch clear and smooth analog TV programmes in strong-signal areas. GIGABYTE g-Smart adopts PAL and NTSC standards and can automatically search for local analog TV signal when users travel to other countries. The phone also supports FM radio and can automatically select channels. Users can listen to radio programmes anywhere and anytime. GIGABYTE g-Smart is built-in with Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and is able to prevent users from losing personal data due to power exhaustion. The operating system supports application software including Excel Mobile, Word Mobile and PowerPoint Mobile enabling easy viewing of powerpoint and editing of documents and spreadsheets. The phone is also built-in with a dictionary of 100,000 vocabularies with useful functions like audio, new words expansion and book marking, assisting users to learn English anytime. Windows Mobile Direct Push is another sparkling function of GIGABYTE g-Smart. It is the new push e-mail service provided by Microsoft’s latest Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and Exchange Server 2003 SP2. Through GPRS or Wi-Fi, users can access their official emails, contacts, messages in real-time, and catch the latest information, respond, and make decisions immediately, even when they are out of office. GIGABYTE g-Smart is bundled with a 256MB Mini SD card and a MapKing Hong Kong mobile mapping system. The MapKing Hong Kong mobile mapping system can convert GIGABYTE g-Smart into an automobile mapping system using Bluetooth GPS receiver purchased by users.
