Preview of HTC Hermes published - getting ready for the first affordable UMTS Pocket PC phone March 17, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Since Motorola once again fails Windows Mobile community and postpones release of Motorola Q indefinitely (in USA: probably to May 2006, in Europe: probably to February 2007), it looks like HTC has no such problems that and it will release the first Pocket PC phone with a wheel (real wheel and not just jog-dial!):
... on time, i.e. around July or August 2006! HTC Hermes is also the first affordable and relatively small UMTS Pocket PC phone. Here comes another photo review and preview of this phone, author of this preview writes: You can find here some pictures of one the prototype versions of the HTC Hermes PDAPhone compared to other Windows Mobile PDAPhone (XDA Atom and HTC Wizard). HTC Hermes is UMTS, HSDPA (3.5G) and seems to be EDGE too. It is bigger than the XDA Atom and bigger than the HTC Wizard with almost the same form factor ! The prototype version of this handheld has a Samsung 300 Mhz Processor but some T-Mobile representative told us the final version of the Hermes could have a 400 Mhz processor.
