Review: HP iPAQ hw6915 Pocket PC phone March 24, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. In this review the hw6915 is deservedly being bashed as unworthy... Truly HP is lagging behind competition in Windows Mobile area and sadly there are no signs of improvements in sight... Some quotes from the review: It does, however, have excellent connectivity despite its unfortunate lack of 3G, and also excels at one-handed navigation. What's positive: Comprehensive connectivity; integrated GPS; good performance What's negative: Poor thumb-board; low-resolution screen; lacks 3G; mediocre battery life Unfortunately this review contains some inaccuracies: The star of the show, however, is the integrated GPS receiver, a feature HP pioneered and which remains fairly exclusive even in today's market. ... what is completely wrong because both Mitac Mio A701 and E-TEN G500 are already available and they both have built-in GPS receiver! It also is not mentioned that while A701 and G500 use GPS receiver of latest generation: SiRF Star III, the hw6915 still has old generation GPS that sometimes requires assitance in form of A-GPS software that downloads location of satellites over Internet to get GPS fix.
