Motorola ramps up buzz about Q and confirms release date: April 2006
March 24, 2006 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.

We were the first (already in January 2006!) to reveal that Motorola Q is coming in April 2006

... and now Motorola confirms it by specifying for the first time some more exact release date "Available April 2006"... and by releasing more marketing buzz (including the lie about "the thinnest smartphone" - no, Samsung i320 is thinner!):

The office that moves with you Your life goes beyond the office. You need the freedom to have information that moves with you – without desks, wires or bulk to weigh you down.

The Motorola Q brings that freedom.

Voice, data and multimedia in the world’s thinnest full-function smartphone

While the new Motorola Q is 50% thinner than other smartphones, don’t let it’s sleek styling and RAZR-thinness fool you. The Motorola Q is a full-function smartphone with superior voice quality, data and multimedia capabilities.

It features a large, vibrant 2.4” color screen, voice activated dialing, a 1.3 megapixel camera with photo lighting, mp3 and video capabilities, stereo speakers and web surfing capability…so you can listen to your favorite song while checking your email or visit the web for the latest news while on riding the train to work.

Its electro-luminescent keys, full QWERTY keyboard and thumbwheel for single-handed control make the Motorola Q, dare we say, fun to use?

Bluetooth technology to free you from wires

The Motorola Q features Bluetooth wireless technology, so you can add the latest Bluetooth accessories, like RAZRWIRE Bluetooth sunglasses.

Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 platform

Motorola Q runs on the Windows Mobile 5.0 for easy integration with other Microsoft Windows applications and out-of-the-box support for Microsoft Exchange 2003 so your company can leverage its existing investment in infrastructure, training and support, while continuing to protect your office network, data and application security.

The Motorola Q. Forward-thinking technology. Cutting edge design. The office that moves with you…with style.

Available April 2006.
