(yet another) problem with Treo 700w Pocket PC phone April 02, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Previously we mentioned that Palm Treo 700w at Verizon Wireless is plagued with many problems and here comes yet another one!
Some Calendar appointments appear one hour earlier and device displays incorrect time after Daylight Savings Time begins This issue is under investigation by Palm engineers. After Daylight Saving Time begins (2:00 a.m., first Sunday in April), you may notice that some appointments in your smartphone's Calendar appear one hour early. For example, if you had scheduled a dental appointment for 9:00 a.m. Monday, it would appear on your smartphone as 8:00 a.m. Monday; it will also appear incorrectly in Outlook on your desktop PC as 8:00 a.m. Monday. In addition, full-day appointments may appear one day early. To learn how to solve the problem click here. Conclusion: Palm is disappointing not only in lack of ROM upgrade with push email for Treo 700w but in apparently small amount of testing so that several errors are still present in this, otherwise nice, device. The sentence from Palm "This issue is under investigation by Palm engineers." sounds reassuring but since Treo 700w was designed and manufactured by HTC in Taiwan, it could well be that Palm employees are waiting for HTC to do the job for them...
