Attack of the clones: TechFaith Wireless shows a clone of Motorola Q at CTIA Wireless 2006 April 07, 2006 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Interestingly it is powered by Pocket PC Phone Edition and not MS Smartphone version of Windows Mobile - as it is in the case of Motorola Q, so right from the start this clone offers more features than the original! Unfortunately Motorola's lackluster approach to Windows Mobile phones combined with several cancellations of some Motorola phones powered by Windows Mobile, makes people think, that Motorola is more committed to mobile Linux and Symbian, than to Windows Mobile. Fortunately thanks to TechFaith Wireless users will be able to enjoy Motorola Q -like looks and feel: The Motorola Q isn't even out yet, but that isn't stopping TechFaith Wireless, our new favorite renegade Chinese handset manufacturer, from showing off an eerily similar knock-off here at CTIA (or at least a mock-up of a knock-off). We weren't able to get any specs or a name, but we did learn that this fakester will differ from (or improve on, depending on your perspective) the original by running the Pocket PC version of Windows Mobile 5.0 We were previously mentioning product line up of TechFaith Wireless, but this clone of Motorola Q was not listed there yet. Now however a real live photos of this clone are available: To read more about the clone of the Motorola Q and to see its photo click here.
